Food, farming and countryside for everyone. Children and young people are becoming more disconnected than ever from the countryside and where their food comes from. We work with you to turn that around.
Farming and Countryside Education annual review provides a snapshot of FACE’s work in the academic year 2016/17 and sets out future directions as it moves forward with LEAF.
Food production is the single biggest and most important human endeavour on the planet. That’s why we believe every citizen should be able to play their part in understanding and deciding how their food is produced.
We partner with education and industry to ensure children and young people grow up able to make informed decisions about the food they eat and the countryside it’s produced in.
Countryside Classroom helps teachers to find resources, places to visit and school support relating to the themes of food, farming and the natural environment. Our site contains a range of quality assured educational content from hundreds of contributors.
We have an exciting opportunity to bring the world of farming, food and the environment directly to young people in their school classroom. The charity that we work for, LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), has recently merged with FACE (Farming and Countryside Education). The merger means that we can now lead the way in educating young people and the wider public regarding the agricultural industry as a whole.
